Area Restaurants
Most Congress attendees will find the on-campus cafeteria convenient, economical, and tasty, and the
meal plan is highly encouraged, but you will have other options.
There are a number of restaurants within a 15-minute walk from the campus, most of them clustered
around the town square and courthouse in the center of Georgetown. These would include:
- The Golden Rule, 606 Church St.
- The Grumpy George Pub and Grub, 114 E 7th St.
- Juliet Italian Kitchen, 701 S. Main St.
- Goodfolks, 119 W. 7th St.
- Blue Corn Harvest Bar & Grill, 212 W 7th St.
- 600 Degrees Pizzeria, 124 E 8th St.
- Sweet Lemon Kitchen, 812 S. Church St.
- Wildfire, 812 S Austin Ave.
- Dos Salas, 1104 S. Main St.
If you have transportation, there will be many more choices within a mile or 2 of campus, mostly along the
I-35 corridor. And if you're willing to go further afield, the greater Austin area is not just the live music
capitol of America, it's also a great restaurant town. The web site Yardbarker recently rated Austin as #2
in it's "20 foodie destinations in the United States". (#1 was Portland, Maine.)
Note: The Cove pub on campus, which will be open in the evenings, will not have kitchen service, just
bar snacks available.
