March 31 marked a momentous day at the Tech Time Go Club as it played host to its inaugural
Tech Time Spring Tournament, showcasing an electrifying blend of strategy and skill across two sections of competition. The event, in Newark, CA, attracted a diverse group of 36 players in the handicap section, split into three divisions, and 8 elite players in the open section, all vying for top honors and cash prizes.
In a display of unmatched prowess and strategic depth, Jiashi Zhang 5D clinched the championship title in the open section with an unblemished 4-0 record. Jiashi's journey to the top was punctuated by a nail-biting encounter against Chao Xie 7D, a powerhouse in California's Go community. Reflecting on his victory, Jiashi emphasized the dual virtues of perseverance and strategic time management, attributing his success to the ability to make more informed decisions in the critical moments of the game.
Chao Xie, settling for a respectable second place, shared his reflections on the intense match against Jiashi, lauding his opponent's remarkable comeback.
