Ryan Li 4P will play Michael Chen 1P Sunday at 5p ET for the first North American representative

Li won his game in Round 1 of the qualifier on Saturday by resignation, defeating Alex Qi 1P, while Chen beat Mingjiu Jiang 7P by 9.5 points in their Round 1 game. The winner of Sunday’s game will take the first N.A. Lanke rep slot; the second will be determined in a third round on a date TBD.
The qualifier is organized by the North American Go Federation. Last year the NAGF sent Alexander Qi 1P (as reported by Edward Zhang in this
AGA E-journal article) but he was defeated in the first round by Li Weiqing 9D. The European Go Federation sent Ali Jabarin 2P who was also knocked out in the first round. Shengyi Gu Zihao (China) bested Shin Jinseo (Korea) 2-1 in the final of Quzhou Lanke Cup to achieve a personal double crown.
