The newly restarted American Collegiate Go Association (ACGA) has announced that its first event will be a virtual tournament on December 28.
All college students -- undergrad, postgrad, etc. – can register here. The Evanston Go Club — which hosts the 2024 Chicago Open on May 25-26 (see tournament page here) — is sponsoring the grand prize of $100 for the ACGA pilot tournament’s champion. All other division winners will receive a non-cash award.
The ACGA co-founders invite all university Go clubs to register as an official ACGA chapter here. The American Go Association has offered the ACGA a discount code so that the cost of new and renewing Youth memberships in the AGA are covered for ACGA participants. Subscribe to the ACGA email list here, join the ACGA Discord here and ACGA Instagram here.
The ACGA co-founders plan to launch the Collegiate Go League in the spring. The ACGA “seeks to empower young adults in North America to promote the ancient mind game Go and bring collegiate Go to new heights. We strive to provide an inclusive and intellectual environment to connect the North American Go community.” See the official statement here.
