Zhizun Zhao (Troy) 7D topped the Austin Go Club’s Austin Spring Fling Go Tournament held April 22-23. Co-Directors Gilbert Garza and Bart Jacob report that there were a total of 42 participants ranging from 7D to 20K in the two-day 5-round tournament. “Thanks to everyone who participated in making this a fun weekend of go in Austin,” says Jacob.
The following individuals took home prizes in their respective bands:
Open Section: 1st - Zhizun Zhao (Troy) 7d; 2nd - Ethan Whitman 4d; 3rd - Juanshu Lan 6d
Handicap-A: 3 dan - 4 kyu: 1st - Xiaoyu Wang 3d; 2nd - Igor Santana 3k; 3rd - Jerry Young 1k
Handicap-B: 4 kyu-9 kyu; 1st - Debbie Chen 6k; 2nd - Jim Sandy 6k; 3rd - Jason Miller 4k
DDK: 10 kyu - 20 kyu; 1st Alden Tarver 12k; Paul Niswanger 11k; Joshua Wagner 10k
