The 2023 Chicago Open is taking place over Memorial Day weekend, May 27-28, in Evanston, Illinois. “Family members are more than welcome to hang out in the tournament venue,” says Albert Yen, tournament organizer. Players are encouraged to register here before the May 6 early-bird deadline to be entered into a raffle to win a prize from the Nihon Ki-in. Register early to book one of the six remaining Evanston Holiday inn discounts before they sell out.
Additionally, Albert Yen has created two Illinois-themed tsumego; players who submit a correct answer through the response form by April 30th will be entered into a raffle to win a prize upon attending the Chicago Open.
“The tournament organizers thank all the sponsors — New York Institute of Go, Baduk Club, Yellow Mountain Imports, Online Go Server, and Moon Ki Cho — for donating fun prizes,” Mark Rubenstein, Evanston Go Club president adds.
