Honinbō Dōteki (本因坊 道的, 1669 – June 13, 1690) was an Edo-period Go player, born in Matsusaka, Ise Province. Originally named Ogawa, he was the heir to Honinbō Dōsaku. He achieved the rank of 6-dan at the age of 13, gaining recognition as one of the greatest prodigies in the history of the game. Unfortunately, Dōteki died young, at the age of 21. His untimely death cut short what could have been a legendary career.
