The third annual MacArthur Go Festival & Championship will bring tournament competition,
professional instruction and family activities to Morris Canal Park in Jersey City, New Jersey, on Saturday, September 12.
The festival’s centerpiece will be an Open Championship for players of all ages and strengths, organized into groups by playing level. The tournament will offer an $800 top prize, with additional cash prizes and trophies awarded in multiple divisions.
Professional players will lead workshops on strategy, reading, endgame and game analysis, as well as review participants’ games.
Newcomers and families can visit the Family Go Fun Zone for introductory lessons, parent-child activities, puzzles, Crazy Go and relay competitions. The first 150 registered players will receive limited-edition goodie bags.
Now in its third year, the festival draws youth and adult players from across the East Coast and beyond. Registration is now open on the New York Go Association website.
