The Nihon Ki-in Winter Go Camp 2024 will take place from December 4 to 11 in Tokyo, Japan, at the Nihon Ki-in headquarters and the Yurakucho Go Center. The event offers a unique opportunity for non-Japanese Go enthusiasts to hone their skills while experiencing the rich culture of Go in Japan.
Tokyo's early December weather is mild, with daytime temperatures around 15°C, making it comfortable for participants traveling from North America and Europe.
This intensive training program includes professional lectures, league tournaments, simul games with pro players, and goodwill matches. Participants will also receive exclusive textbooks and souvenirs. The camp features the "Dan and Kyu Certificate Tournament" on December 7, where attendees have a chance to earn Nihon Ki-in official Dan or Kyu certificates based on their entry rank.
Registration is now open, with the participation fee set at JPY 51,800. A discounted rate of JPY 45,900 is available for participants under 19. The fee covers all pro lectures, tournament entries, simul games, and more. For an additional JPY 18,000, participants can upgrade to Premium status, which includes legendary pro teaching games, free entry to the official tournament, and special gifts.
