Evanston Go Club Opens 2024 Chicago Rapid Registration

Evanston, Illinois - September 9, 2024: The Evanston Go Club has opened registration for the 2024 Chicago Rapid, which will take place on Nov. 2, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Church Evanston. This year’s event features five rounds in a McMahon-style format. All games will be AGA-rated. For more details and to register, please visit their website and registration form. Community-centered: The 2024 Chicago Rapid celebrates the success of the Evanston Go Club's previous three events, which drew over 100 players from 15 states, marking some of the largest biannual Go tournaments in the country. Photos from the 2023 Chicago Rapid can be found here.

Name Tags: Custom name tags designed by Aaron Czarnecki are returning!

Prizes: All top finishers in each division will receive prizes. Stay tuned for updates on our sponsors!

Youth Tournament: Beginner youth players are welcome to join our free 9-by-9 tournament, where fun prizes await.

Food: Enjoy Taiwanese bento box with a drink from Tealicious Bubble Tea. This year’s dinner party will be catered by Reza’s Restaurant, Evanston’s top spot for Persian cuisine.

Live Pairings (NEW): We will be using Leago’s pairing system, founded by Nick Prince, to provide live pairings and results. The registration form will guide you to also sign-up on Leago.
The event will cost $45 for the Main section (beginners welcomed!) and $55 for the Open section. Early birds, who register by Oct. 21, will receive a $10 discount and are eligible for club discounts (groups of 5 or more).
