A free Go festival is coming to Central Park on September 15th, reports NYC Go organizer Peter Armenia. “This is being put on by a number of Korean arts and cultural organizations and is supported by the New York Institute of Go,” Peter says. “It will be an all day festival with lessons for beginners, a tournament and even an evening concert.” Find out more here.
Peter also reports that since the Hungarian Pastry Shop – the usual home of the Gotham Go Club – “is currently closed and looks like this” (see photo), Gotham will be meeting at Amity Hall again this week (which is just a block down the street at 982 Amsterdam Ave).” The Hungarian Pastry Shop “should be back in business the following Tuesday,” Peter adds.
In other NYC club news, Peter reports that “they will also be playing at pinkFROG cafe in Brooklyn (221 N 9th St) on Tuesdays, 5-closing.)
The Salt Lake City Go Club meets every other Saturday at the Salt Lake City Library Main Branch at 210 East 400 South, Salt Lake City, UT, reports Layne Lund. “We had 16 attendees this week and lots of games were played. If you are in the area, come join us for some Go.” Click here for their schedule and check out their Discord channel here.
