Attendance at the Women's Tournament remained strong throughout the week of the recent US Go Congress, with more than thirty participants on Friday, the fourth and final day of the tournament. Alisa Wu (photo) continued her winning streak, finishing in first place with a 4-0 record. Alisa expressed a sense of pride at her accomplishment and was pleased to see women in Go receiving more attention. Meanwhile, top seed Jisu Kim skipped the last day of the competition as she had a conflicting match scheduled in the Masters. She attained a winning record of 4-3 for the Masters Tournament and finished 10th of 30 participants. The AGA and AGF continue to look for ways to support women in Go. During its board meeting at the Congress, the AGF decided to increase its support for girls' tournament play by voting to increase the number of sections to match the format of the Redmond Cup in the future.
