Tony Yang 7d (r) plays against Wang Shunbo 7d (l) of China at the 2023 World Youth Goe Championship in Singapore.
Registration is open for the 39th World Youth Goe Championship Qualifier to decide the US representative. Players must be under the age of 18 as of August 25, 2024, have US citizenship, and have resided in the US for at least 6 of the past 12 months. Players must also have not represented the US at this tournament in the Senior group within the past 3 years. The top four players seeded by AGA rating will be selected to play in a single-elimination tournament on June 1st, 2024 with rounds at 9 am PT and 1 pm PT. The qualifier will be played on OGS using Ing rules and time settings of 1 hour+3x30 seconds byo-yomi. A Skype video call will also be required for all games.

The winner of this qualifier will become the US representative at this year's World Youth Goe Championship in Romania between August 25-30, 2024. The player will be reimbursed $1,400 for airfare, and food as well as lodging will be covered by the organizers courtesy of the Ing's Goe Foundation.
